If you are traveling by ferry, there are three choices -
1. Vesuvius Bay to/from Crofton on Vancouver Island (Horseshoe bay to Nanaimo & drive
down island to Crofton)
2. Fulford Harbour to/from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island (transfer point for Tsawassen to Swartz Bay ferries)
3. Long Harbour to/from Tsawassen (with stops at all the other gulf islands).
There are several float plane services offering multiple flights daily from Vancouver
South Airport on the Fraser River. Here are two:
If you are travelling by any other kind of boat, give us a call ahead of time for a
pick-up from whichever marina you are using. The closest customs entry points
are at Bedwell Harbour on Pender Island, or Sidney on Vancouver Island.
A reminder – (Perfect for a quiet holiday!) Cell phone service on Salt Spring is intermittent
and spotty. Calling us doesn’t work. You are welcome to use our land line telephone.

From Vesuvius (Vesuvius/Crofton ferry) to Ganges
The drive from Vesuvius into the main town of Ganges takes about 15 minutes. The
only turn to make is at Central where you will see a playing field, fire hall,
theatre, and public works yard on the four corners. Turn right here and wind
your way past the golf course into Ganges.
From Long Harbour (Tsawassen/Long Harbour ferry) to Ganges
From Long Harbour, follow the ferry traffic for about 10 minutes into the main town
of Ganges. The longest part of the trip is Scott Point Road, which is really an
extension of the ferry. Both turns you need to make are left hand ones. The
first one is a left turn on to Upper Ganges/Robinson Road: the second one is at
the end of Ganges Harbour on to Lower Ganges Road. Most of the traffic will be
making the same turns.
From Ganges to Fulford Harbour and Salt Spring Escape
After visiting Ganges, drive through and up the big hill on the Fulford-Ganges Road
past Embe’s Bakery. About 15 minutes (10 miles/6 km) along you will come to the
end of Fulford Harbour. Keep to the left and follow the road towards the
village. Just above the ferry wharf there is a Y in the road with a small
left-hand turn lane on to Beaver Point Road. We are 181 Beaver Point Road – the
third driveway on your left.
From Fulford Harbour (Swartz Bay/Fulford Harbour ferry) to our Salt Spring Escape
Follow the traffic up the hill off the ferry. A short distance above the ferry there
is a Y in the road. Most of the traffic will continue to the left to Ganges.
You will stay to the right and turn on to Beaver Point Road. 181 Beaver Point
Road is the third driveway on your left.
We have a long driveway with a parking lot and a gate at the half way point. If you are
bringing your car to the house, please open the large gate on the driveway and
come on in. The high gate and fence are to keep the deer out of the garden.
